Welcome to Balls 2 Cancer

'The Mark Jones Testicular Cancer Awareness Fund' was formed in June 2006, by Julie Jones, who lost her son Mark to the disease in June.

It has been set up to raise awareness and knowledge of Testicular Cancer and to eliminate the stigma and embarrassment connected with boys and young men becoming more aware of their bodies, especially their testicles.

It is also to explain the importance and value of them being "self-aware" so that diagnosis can be made as early as possible. Surveys suggest that many men are unaware of testicular cancer or prefer to ignore it and only 5% of men regularly check their testicles. Scary thought!

With the money raised through various fundraising events, the aim is to distribute more leaflets to Doctor's surgeries, clinics and schools. There seems to be a lot of publicity and PR being exercised about breast cancer and other cancers, but it is rare to see anything about testicular cancer. Find out more...
